University anti-poverty programmes

Our university has been deeply committed to addressing SDG 1: No Poverty, which aims to eradicate poverty in all its forms. We recognize the multifaceted nature of this goal and have implemented a comprehensive set of strategies to target specific aspects outlined in SDG 1. We prioritize the success of bottom financial quintile students through need-based scholarships, meal and dormitory assistance. Recently, 122 students have graduated with the financial support of ITU scholarships in the 2021-22 academic year.

We also extend support beyond financial aid by offering basic services such as housing, transportation, and legal assistance to low-income students, in addition to an array of scholarships, including Merit and Athlete Scholarships, to uplift them. Moreover, we welcome international students from low and middle-income countries with government-funded scholarships, embodying our dedication to fostering academic opportunities and reducing poverty locally and globally.
