Plastic Reduction & Minimization

Istanbul Technical University leads for students, personnel and suppliers to minimize the single use plastics and disposable items in order to provide some practices for contributing to the circular economy.

• In the restaurants in ITU, the usage of reusable plates, cups, forks, knives, spoons, and stirrers are supported.
• Students are encouraged to use reusable water bottles, bring their own water bottles and thermos bottle to minimize single use plastics and disposable items.
• Stakeholders will be encouraged to use biodegradable items to package the meals and deliveries instead of plastics.
