Plastic Reduction & Minimization
Istanbul Technical University leads students, personnel and suppliers to minimize single-use plastics and disposable items to provide practices for contributing to the circular economy.
- In the restaurants in ITU, the usage of reusable plates, cups, forks, knives, spoons, and stirrers is supported.
- Students are encouraged to use reusable water bottles to minimize single-use plastics and disposable items.
- Stakeholders will be encouraged to use biodegradable items to package the meals and deliveries instead of plastics.
Water Dispensers
To monitor water consumption and reduce plastic waste, there are now water dispensers in all ITU buildings. Students can save water and prevent unnecessary plastic waste by filling their water bottles with these dispensers.
It is of great importance that as the ITU family, we all take steps together to contribute to an environmentally friendly and sustainable campus life. Let's not forget that small changes make big differences.
