Affordable Housing for Employees
ITU Ayazağa Campus is located in Istanbul which is Türkiye’s largest city and it has the most expensive housing market. Therefore, ITU as a body provides affordable housing for employees within its campus. The housing facilities are within the walking distance of various services such as kindergarten, parks, grocery shops and faculties.
In Istanbul the average house price soared by 30% in a year. The average price for an apartment near university costs 455 TL per sq. In comparison, ITU offers houses for 23,23 TL per m2.
Affordable Housing for Students
İTÜ has a Coordinatorship of Scholars and Dormitories to provide relatively cheap and comfortable accommodations especially for low-income students. The coordinatorship also distributes many scholars for low-income students. The distributed scholar amount is published in ITU annual reports every year.
Affordable Housing Projects
Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Interior Architecture, Industrial Design, and Landscape Architecture departments of the ITU Faculty of Architecture have been collaborating with local authorities to address planning/development issues.
