We welcome the submission of undergraduate and graduate students with product or process development that is regarding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), including SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Additionally, we need to take meaningful action on climate change by deeply connecting these two goals to secure the future of food.
You may participate in the competition individually or in groups of up to three people.
The Sustainable Development Goals aim to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030 and to ensure that all people, especially children, have access to adequate nutrition throughout the year. Goals include encouraging small farms and promoting sustainable farming practices that support their equal access to land, technology, and markets.
We must immediately reduce our ecological footprint by changing the way we produce goods and consume resources to achieve economic growth and sustainable development. The efficient management of natural resources and the disposal method of toxic waste and pollutants are also important targets in achieving this goal. Encouraging industries, businesses, and consumers to recycle and reduce waste is equally important as encouraging developing countries to adopt more sustainable consumption patterns by 2030.
